Hospice/Palliative Care
Hospice of the Red River Valley is an independent, not-for-profit hospice serving all, or portions of, 29 counties in North Dakota and Minnesota, which includes part of Red Lake County. Hospice care is intensive comfort care for those with a life-limiting, serious illness who have chosen to stop or go without curative treatments. Hospice relieves pain and symptoms while attending to an individual's physical, personal, emotional and spiritual needs. With an emphasis on comfort rather than curative treatments, our professional staff focus on pain and symptom management so our patients and their loved ones are able to spend time simply being together. When pain and symptoms are relieved, the anxiety and stress that may accompany a terminal illness are lessened, too.

Hospice care includes:

  • Pain and symptom management
  • Help with bathing, dressing and/or eating
  • Emotional and spiritual support
  • Medications, equipment and supplies
  • Respite care
  • Caregiver support, education and guidance from your hospice team
  • Grief support

If you're living with a life-limiting illness, Hospice of the Red River Valley can help. When you're ready to learn more, contact us. We'll visit with you at a time convenient for you, free of charge. If hospice care is right for you, we will do the follow-up work, including contacting your doctor, starting the necessary paperwork and arranging a visit with a hospice nurse.
